![]() Play the chorus!Ok kids,
This is what's goin' on. We have gotten together with a guitarist and drummer. We have laid down some recordings of sessions together and we think we might have something to work with. So, now we move on, find these grooves and make some music for the masses. We are still unsure if the other two are permanent members because of other projects already in the works. So, we move on to yet another chapter in the saga known as "Sin's Fate"! J "Angel_of_Death" Amey FINALLY!Hey guys.. lots of new things on the horizon- the new band lineup will be announced soon, I've got lyrics and melodies rolling out my ass, and lots of new doors are opening for us. Just thinking about SF's future gets me all excited.. more updates soon. - Raivyn And the new year has brought us.. tupperware?Hello again. So much (and yet so little) has happened over these past few months. We're still looking for a guitarist and drummer to join our little freak parade. I've written a lot of stuff since J last updated, and now we need these last two guys to add their personal touches so we can take our shit live. We've been waiting far too long. New things may arise within the next few months, but nothing's set in stone yet. We have a couple major changes planned though.. Big shoutout to Tommy and the boys of Cloaka for allowing me to share the stage with them recently. And to Soil for being so cool to us last month at the Amp. It was a great night. I made a few minor website changes as well, though nothing too spectacular. There's plenty more to come, but that kind of depends on how soon we find our other half. More updates later. - Raivyn Holy Moo Cow Fu*! Milk!Hey Kids, Death here, As frustration slowly sets in on my realization that it's very hard to find musicians that want to play and/or have the talent to play, we struggle on. In these times it reminds me of a song, Reel Big Fish - Don't Start a Band. Seems to me that, once in a while, we sit an ponder the future of things to come. Raivyn and I are still working on the music and I am going to push on and write the sh*t myself. I am purchasing a guitar soon and I will write the music myself. As far as my bass, It's in the shop getting new strings, action dropped, and the intonations set on it. The players we had lined up decided not to call and one has started working on a new project. I am seeming to think that the one will not work w/out the other so, HERE WE GO AGAIN! I am so sorry for yet another delay in this project and hope to hear from you all in the future. Contact us on our myspace pages, band myspace or our e-mails and keep in touch. We need all the help we can get. - Thanx, Angel_of_Death Attention whoritude... what? It's been over two months and no update.. So what have I been doing? I have spent A LOT of free time scribbling in my lyrics journal. Not a lot has become of it.. yet. I've pieced things together and now have one full set of lyrics, which I have decided to call "The Haunting". I also have most of the music written, though it's still a little sketchy. More will become of this one very, very soon. I've also spent countless hours playing keys. My current goal is to figure out how to play my favorite song of all time, "Endless Sacrifice" by Dream Theater. (Do you know how hard it is to find tabs for their stuff online? It's like trying to capture a yeti.) I've also been studying a little classical piano and it's a good source for inspiration. To put a time span on things, I'm hoping to have new music recorded near the start of the new year. More updates later. - Raivyn I'm craving cheesy bread.Newsflash: It's August, guys! (like you didn't know..) To make it short and sweet, things are coming together little by little. It's been interesting to say the least. Our MySpace page has been updated.. maybe a week ago. Check it out. I coded a new template and threw in some text here and there. And now I have to take the opportunity to tell this story.. I went to call Dave the other day about practice and stuff, not realising that I had switched around a couple of the numbers. This guy answers and I'm like, "Hey dude, what's going on?.. blah blah blah.." and we were conversing back and forth for maybe five minutes. Then he asks, "Who is this?" and right then, it hits me. "You're not Dave, are you?" "Nope, you've got the wrong number." And so then I proceded to apologize, trying not to laugh, and hung up the phone. How retarded am I? And to top it off, I forgot to make the call I originally wanted to make. (Sorry dude!) So anyway, if you've got any ideas for new features here on the website, let us know. We'll see what we can do. - Raivyn Just pay him for the pizza, damn it!Hey guys, we're still alive. We finally got internet installed at the apartment.. high speed with digital cable and digital phone. The good sh*t. In other words, we're back up and running like we should be. We've been busy with all sorts of stuff lately- work, writing, looking into new equipment, and getting everything together with a couple new guys. (That last one will be announced when we get our crap in order.) Maybe a slight image change as well. It's still a little foggy here and there, but it's all beginning to clear up and I'm looking forward to this transformation. And in my free time, I've been throwing things together, both the new and old. (My music notebook is a mess.) Some people have noticed that I took my old lyrics off my MySpace page the other day and I received a few messages asking why. Basically, I'm revamping quite a few of those songs, changing lyrics and even putting a couple of them together to form a brand new song. The new stuff will NOT reach the internet until we record it. A few people I know will want to kick me in my white arse for that, but I'm doing what's best for the moment. But for now, I need to get myself around for work soon. Gotta leave in half an hour or so. Thanks to those who've been reading my sh*t and commenting. You guys rock. Later! - Raivyn Garlic mashed potatoes rock!Geez, it's been about a month since my last update! Where the hell have I been? At my apartment without internet, that's where! Extremely deprived, I must say.. we plan to get hooked up very, very soon. HIGH SPEED OR NO SPEED AT ALL. (I'm on stupid dial-up at the mother's house right now.) And if it's not one thing, it's always another. I have yet again been cursed with a cold.. IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER. What the **** is that?! Needless to say, I am not a happy camper. That aside, I've hopped back on the writing wagon. I've got many bits and pieces, but have not yet decided where they all should fit together. My mind has been buzzing so much about this and that, it's hard to keep everything straight (especially my schedule).. though I can say that my music notebook has nearly doubled in size. It's about time to reorganize it all. But first things first- I need to finish writing "Frail". That's my latest project. Okay, guys. Cutting it short. It's after midnight and my mind has shut down. Later. - Raivyn Macaroni and cheese for 29 cents!Hey, everyone and welcome to June! (Yes, it's June already.. It was confirmed a week ago, believe it or not. Where have I been?)
I have been asked numerous times about this journal over the past month or so. Yes, it is real (unlike a few people who enjoy posing as me online). I've been blogging there since my birthday last December, probably before this website even came about. I know I've stirred up a few small quarrels in the online world about my attitude here and there.. I've gotten a few emails about it. But what can I say? It's my own personal blog and if you don't like it, don't read it. It's that simple. Well, I might as well throw a few more links out into the air.. MySpace. Love it or hate it, almost everyone I know has a profile there. Here's my page, Jason's page, and the band's page. Add us up. You know you want to. I was originally going to have J type up this post and let his imagination run wild, but that party pooper had to go to work. FORK YOU TOO, DUDE! FORK YOU TOO! On the musical side of things, we're still on our mini hiatus. But still.. we can't escape the music monster. Over the past couple weeks, there hasn't been a day where I didn't sit down and play my piano. And every day, J's got a new bass line created in his head. Kicking back during our little vacation? I think not. The music owns our souls. Many, many, many plans for the near future. You'll be informed when the time is right. Stay cool and don't take candy from strangers. - Raivyn Excuse me, you just stepped on my hat rack.Where are all the comments? I love comments.. SHOW ME SOME LOVE, DAMN IT! I'm not greedy, I swear! It's been a little slow in the SF-osphere lately. We've been taking a small break, letting ourselves readjust to changing times, and getting ready to push ahead yet again. As plenty of you know, we're still looking for musicians and once we get this issue sorted, we're gonna start it all up again. And quickly. Before my head explodes. During my free time, I've been keeping myself locked away from the world, writing and playing my beloved Yamaha keyboard. Oh, I love her so. But it seems that I can only come up with slow, somewhat mournful melodies. It's not that I'm sad.. the high energy stuff just isn't in my fingers at the moment. And that's when I move to the pen and paper to work on lyrics, only to find myself lacking the words I held in my mind not five minutes before. It's like my brain melted or something. I don't know. The best things always come when you're not looking for them.. Soon enough. - Raivyn How about a snorkel and an avocado?People in this town just have no sense of humor whatsoever. I cannot understand it. Maybe they don't like metal freaks.. who knows? We're still looking for guitarists. And drummers. (My god, this is annoying the crap out of me!) But what can I do? I'm making new contacts every few days.. people in other bands. Many have offered to help us out in finding musicians, and I appreciate that, but I'm still riding that fence between composure and insanity. Or maybe I'm just impatient. We've also been working on a couple songs that we've yet to come up with names for. They're.. interesting. I'll put it that way. I've got a crapload of ideas, but because of our lack of musicians, we can't put all of them into action. And again with the frustration. It's one big circle. Ever notice that life revolves around circles? Our emotions and life events can be compared to circles in one way or another. The earth is a circle. (Okay, it's a SPHERE.. but still, just work with me.) CD's are circles. Most dishware take on the form of circles. The wheels on our cars are circles. I think I have made my point. Heptagons are completely left out of the loop. Is it weird to feel bad for them? HEPTAGONS HAVE FEELINGS, TOO! That's it, I'm going home. - Raivyn Gotta be smarter than the seatbelt.I'm not picking on you, J... I swear! Eatabagoshit. Okay, it's May and a lot of things have come our way. (I can rhyme better than you can, so there!) These past few months have been hectic, to say the least. Between trying to come up with new stuff, our own personal issues, and losing a band member, we've had our share of problems. And then some. But really, what can you do? Just take it as it comes. Life goes on. We've got plans, and things to work off of, and dreams. Dreams are what drive us. They are our inspiration, our hope. Without them, we would have nothing. I don't mean to get all soft and mushy right now, but this is the truth and it's what I've been thinking about a lot today. And the website layout.. Yes, I know it was blue for a day or so. And now it's red. And it's staying red because it's more us. It says, "YO! WE'RE A BAND! CHECK US OUT, DUDE!" Or maybe it's just my mashed potatoes talking. Who the fuck knows? Either way, you've gotta be smarter than the seatbelt.. - Raivyn Posts 1 - 12 of 26
